Abstract: The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is an institution aiming to improve the training of creative and distinguished postgraduates and enhance the development of China's higher education. Over the past several years, CSC has sponsored many talented Chinese students for overseas study. From January 2021 to March 2022, Mr. Yanbin He, supervised by Prof. Tianning Chen, was sponsored by CSC to perform research work at the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Lausanne UNIL as an invited researcher, supervised by Prof. Klaus Holliger. In this presentation, a systematic report about his research work on the seismic properties of fractured porous media will be reported. In particularly, the living and cultural experience in Switzerland will also be presented.
