Abstract: The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is the Chinese Ministry of Education's non-profit organization that provides support for international academic exchange with China. CSC provides both funding for Chinese citizens and residents to study abroad, and for foreign students and scholars to study in China. From November 24th, 2020 to June 5th, 2022, Mr. Tao Yan was sponsored by CSC to conduct research work in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) as an international scholar under the supervision of Prof. Liliane Pintelon and Prof. Reginald Dewil. This presentation will start with a brief introduction to KUL. Then a scientific report on joint maintenance and spare parts optimization of industrial systems will be presented. Finally, some life experiences and perceptions of overseas study in Belgium will be shared.
