“馥莉”论坛—Engineering the Food Factory of the Future
馥莉论坛是由我校馥莉食品装备工程与科学学院发起的系列学术论坛。2014年5月,由浙江馥莉慈善基金会捐资一亿元人民币,yl23455永利成立了馥莉食品装备工程与科学学院。学院的成立旨在提升中国食品制造装备、检测仪器的设计、开发和应用能力,培养具有国际视野的食品安全领军人才和卓越工程师。馥莉论坛将定期邀请国内外食品工程、机械工程、仪器科学等领域的杰出科学家为我校师生开展科学、前沿、生动的系列学术报告。

讲座内容:
The lecture will focus on the current state and future needs of food manufacturing and processing. Particular attention will be given to the contributions required of the engineering profession to meet the challenges to provide a safe, secure, sustainable, and plentiful food supply. Specific topics to be addressed includes; opportunities for automation and control of food manufacturing equipment; an example of using computational modeling to improve the design and manufacturing of microwavable foods; and managing the nexus of food, energy, and water requirements of food production and manufacturing. The speakers will also discuss how the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is preparing to meet these grand challenges

Timothy Wei, PhD
Dean of the College of Engineering
Dean Wei received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and his M.S. in Mechnanical Engineering from Lehigh University. His research interests are coupling fundamental fluid dynamics experiements with critical technologies of socio-technological importance.
David Jones, PhD
Associate Dean and Professor of Biological Systems Engineering
Associate Dean Jones received his PhD in Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University at Stillwater and his M.S. from Texas A&M College Station. His research interests are fuzzy set theory, soft computing techniques, bioenergy/fuels, mathematical modeling of physical and biological systems.
