A Summary of Life and Research at UML
Abstract
I have been sponsored by the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University since January 2018 to conduct a one-year research in Professor Zhu Mao’s group at the Structural Dynamics & Acoustic Systems Laboratory (SDASL) of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (UML). In my presentation, I will talk about my adventures at the UML during the past year. Two parts about both the life and research will be presented. First, a brief introduction to SDASL will be given. In the second part, I will briefly introduce three projects about the dynamic behavior of dual-rotor system and rotor-disc-blade coupling system, on which I worked with Prof. Zhu.
Bio Sketch of Mr. Laihao Yang
Laihao Yang is a fifth year Ph.D. student in Professor Xuefeng Chen’s group in the school of mechanical engineering at the Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China. During January 2018 – January 2019, he is sponsored by the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University to conduct a one-year research at the Structural Dynamics & Acoustic Systems Laboratory of University of Massachusetts, Lowell and supervised by Prof. Zhu Mao. His research is focused on the nonlinear dynamic analysis dual-rotor system and rotating shaft-disc-blade system with the ultimate aim of achieving better understanding of the fault mechanism of aero-engine rotor system in order to provide baseline for the fault diagnosis and health monitoring of aero-engine rotor system.
