摘要: Characterization of Polymer and Composite Materials
Lightweight applications in transportation industry can be realized with fibre reinforced polymer systems, called “Composites” . Those composites are defined by the reinforcing fibre and the embedding matrix system, mainly composed by polymer material – either thermoplastic or thermo set characteristic.
In this presentation some special aspects of materials as well as of the processing technologies will be discussed in detail. The rheological characterization is defining the processing behaviors of composites and the mechanical characteristics. The processing of impregnate of the fibres will define the effective usage of fibres in a structure, i.e. in aircraft of automotive applications.

摘要: New Aspect in Polymer Materials and Processing
Thermoplastic polymers are very interesting materials for different applications. By describing the rheological behaviors in the melting phase the processing i.e. in injection moulding gives the chance to produce even very complicated structures with in this process.
In this presentation the flow characteristics of filled and unfilled thermoplastics will be discussed. Some applications examples will be presented with showing the possibilities for complicated structures with thermo plastics.
Ziegmann教授主要研究方向:
- Processing of highly filled thermoplastics (compounding, rheology, injection moulding, multi-component injection moulding)
- Micro injection moulding (tooling conception, design of weld lines)
- Processing technologies for composite materials with natural and high performance fibres (filament winding, press technique, autoclave technology, diaphragm technique, Liquid-Composite-Moulding technologies (LCM))
- Natural fibre systems (modification/functionalization of natural fibres, fibre-matrix coupling)
- Modelling and simulation of flow processes (reaction kinetics, permeability, rheology)
- Characterization of materials (mechanical, physical, thermal and electrical properties of material systems)
