Abstract
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is an institution aiming to improve the training of creative and distinguished postgraduates and enhance the development of China’s higher education. Over the past several years, CSC has sponsored many talented Chinese students for overseas study. From October 2017 to October 2019, Mr. Baoqing Ding was sponsored by CSC to perform two-year research work at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, New York University. During his stay, he worked together with Prof. Ivan Selesnick on sparse representation theory and its application on mechanical fault diagnosis. In the presentation, Mr. Ding will give a brief introduction of New York University and Prof. Selesnick’s group. Then, he will share his research work and study experience in NYU. In addition, he will also briefly introduce the experience of attending the MSEC Conference 2019.
